Roy Walker Furniture the History

Being established for over 48 years has been an incredible journey that is now in its third generation, Roy walker was the founder of the company and now is run by his son Darrell Walker.

They once worked together on the Milk flotes circling the Newark area, so this has been a lovely success story of Father and son working together and that continues to this day.

We originally started in the furniture trade as buyers and sellers of reconditioned furniture that we upcycle and made to look brand new and its funny how now that seems to be all the craze all these years later.

We then moved into the pine furniture trade slowly but surely picking up momentum with a brilliant crew of carpenters that were highly skilled and we’re capable of creating a product that we are still known for all these 40 years later.

After the passing of Roy walker, the son Darrell and wife Jose were determined to carry on the family business.

Some years later we went from 6 workers to almost 40 and had become one of Europe’s leading manufacturers in Pine furniture and supplied the uk’s largest seller of pine furniture Durham Pine.

We Created the furniture ranges such as the Popular Windsor, Chatsworh, Linden, Edwordian, these ranges were distributed to over 60 stores nation wide.

As we all know Times change and so does fashion, the pine trade after a solid 30 years was starting to see a decline because of Chinese and foreign importation and we had to act fast to come out with a new product that was missing from retailers and online.

We then started creating rustic furniture built to last lifetimes! and our love for reclaimed timbers drove us to create stunning furniture that far exceeded our dreams.

Now we are once again a leading manufacturer of this type of furniture that is now known as reclaimed rustic Wood furniture.

With a brilliant crew of workers we are set on delivering a product of supreme quality only we can offer and a family businesses to be proud of, and the sons of Darrell are now helping to lead a path into the future and assist with new technologies and vision in a fast paced world of Internet sales and marketing.
